I had the privilege of attending two fundraising events in the Midwest: North Royalton, OH and Chicago.

At N. Royalton, I was hosted by the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America, Branch #12 (www.unwla.com ) where I did brief readings from my novel about Chornobyl THE SKY UNWASHED and articles I wrote about our first shoot in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. Our film short, EPIPHANY AT CHORNOBYL was screened and we premiered our newest trailer for LIFE IN THE DEAD ZONE.

In Chicago, our good friends at the Nuclear Energy Information Service (NEIS, www.neis.org ) hosted a dinner at Paul Harnas’ Zakopane Polish Restaurant where EPIPHANY AT CHORNOBYL was also screened and I did a few readings from my novel and articles as well.

Our heartfelt thanks to UNWLA Branch #12, and Dave Kraft and the NEIS members who so kindly and generously supported our film project! Thankyou and Diakuyu! –Irene Zabytko
